![]() ![]() Whether or not you use the mod for manual fan control depends on the fan. If you decide to attempt repairing a/c cooling, post another thread. You now have a manual fan control switch using the a/c button.ĭo not try to use the a/c this way (reconnecting the compressor wire) otherwise you accept the consequences of unfamiliarity with a/c systems and related problems. Simply disconnect (1st) the power wire to the compressor to prevent powering it up when the following mod is performed disconnect the a/c pressure switch (located near the radiator, on the compressor discharge line) and (2nd) insert a small paper clip jumper across the a/c pressure switch connector. The misinformation given out over the years from well meaning members confuses anyone trying the simple 'manual fan cooling' control method as long as a/c isn't repaired. It seems as long as I'm driving, my coolant is okay.I know my thermometer is not the issue, as it was recently replaced.Ģ-You don't need a/c to make the cooling fan run. But I can't keep running the fan like this, as it's bound to give out from constant use. Since then, I haven't had any other overheating issues. My compressor doesn't work, so I can't turn on my A/C to see if the fan works. What I've done to jimmy rig the problem, is I've disconnected the connector from the ECTS, forcing the fan to run at all times. I know my fan works, but I can't test the connector. My coolant boils over when it gets a quarter over the half mark. On my SL2, currently at 193,xxx, has a slight issue. I topped off my coolant with water, and when I checked it a day or so later, coolant was in my reservoir instead of the water. I know my thermometer is not the issue, as it was recently replaced, and I can tell that my coolant is cycling out. ![]() It seems as long as I'm driving, my coolant is okay. ![]() What I've done to jimmy rig the problem, is I've disconnected the connector from the ECTS, forcing the fan to run at all times.
